Saturday 14th May saw the Buccaneers travel to Grimsby to take on the Stormers in the fourth game of the Summer Classic. On Saturday 2nd April, the Buccaneers made the trip down the M62 to take on Summer Classic rivals, Kingston City Knights. Buccaneers Head East For Knights Duel

Saturday 2nd April will see the Blackburn Buccaneers head over to Hull for their opening game of the Summer League campaign against the Kingston City Knights. The Knights already have two league games under their belt and have hit the ground running with two very convincing victories over the Sheffield Ice Tigers, scoring 30 goals and only conceding 3 in the process.

The Buccaneers will have to be at their best to halt the momentum of the Knights. Club captain Michael Walsh had this to say:

Whilst we don’t really know anything about the Knights, they have come up with two huge results against Sheffield so we know we will have to be on top of our game. We’re taking a solid team over to Hull and the key to getting a victory will be playing as a unit and taking our chances when we create them. In our recent game against Flintshire we created lots in front of their goal but sometimes struggled to hit the net, if we repeat that against Kingston we could be punished.

Faceoff is at 17.15 at Hull Ice Arena and scores will be posted on our Twitter account @BuccaneersIHC

Double Signing

After lengthy negotiations (i.e a few months of “I’ll send my reg money over soon, I promise”), the Buccaneers are finally able to announce the re-signing of two of our key players, Craig Pennington and Carl Price

With these two back on board for the 2016 season, the Buccaneers really do have two more players on the roster.
